THE BEST EDUCATIONAL SYSTEMS IN THE WORLD AND MODERN TRENDS IN THEIR DEVELOPMENT

Resume

Successful education system is the basis of the innovative development of any country. In recent years, Finland and South Korea occupy the positions of leaders in many international ratings of the world education system research. Educational systems established in these two countries differ significantly from each other. In South Korea, the main emphasis is placed on the student's studies directly at school. This is achieved by maximizing the time in the class. In addition, most of South Korean students go to private schools and tutors. The approach in Finland is different. The main principle of teaching here is to help the learner to understand the material in order to make it easier in future to use in the life i.e, the main thing here is to study and not learn. Consequently, pupils spend less time in classrooms and most of the time is devoted to non-class practical work.

The South Korean model is strict, it requires hard work. Coreans themselves sometimes refer to it as "learning hell", overcoming of which is possible only by the pupil's laborous work. The Finnish model is very light and liberal. It is not stressful at all.

These two models of teaching are absolutely different, practically polarized. This is mainly due to the traditions of these countries and socio-economic conditions. But they have many in common: this is a special appreciation of the teacher's profession: in both countries, teacher’s profession is considered the most prestigious. It can be said that the education system of these countries is based not on talented students but on talented teachers. In our opinion, this is the main basis for the success of the education system of these countries, which in turn is a prerequisite for the success of economic development of these countries.
